The Car of Time

"Huh? Where am I?"

Just hours earlier, I was at the biggest party at my school. I drank too much and passed out. Now, I had awaken in a car. There was no driver, and I appeared to be driving at a constant rate in outer space.

"You are in the car of time," the car said.

"Why am I here?" I asked.

"You have been chosen for the eternal drive. We are going to the edge of the universe. To get there, we will drive at a constant rate until the end of time."

"But I have a life. A home. A family."

"You will journey with me. It will be great."

"Let me out of here!" I tried opening the doors to no avail.

"My doors are sealed shut. You cannot escape your destiny," the car stated.

"What is the purpose of all this?" I asked.

"Very far into the future, this universe will end, and a new one will be born. You must save the future universe."

"But why me? Why not anyone else?"

"You are the only one that has the abilities to accomplish this task."

"How fast are we going?"

"Precisely at the speed of light. But all these questions are trivial. You are the chosen one."

"Well, if I have to... Let's do this!" Then, I headed off in the car of time to save the future universe.
