One day, the mother of a 16-year-old girl was at the mall, shopping for clothes for her daughter's prom. She was having trouble finding the right clothes, when she suddenly saw a girl who looked exactly like her daughter. Noticing the girl, she looked away from the clothes and towards the girl, and then she asked her, "Is your name Nancy?" "Yes, "the girl replied. The woman then went up to the girl, whose name was Nancy, and asked, "What kind of clothes do you want for the prom?" Nancy then replied, "Prom? What are you talking about?" "Your senior prom, "the woman said. The woman then went back to where the clothes were and got out a white dress. She then held the dress up to Nancy and noticed that it fit. "I got you your prom dress, "she said. "You don't look like my mother, "Nancy replied. The woman then asked, "Why are you in the store anyways?" "Well, "Nancy replied. "I'm just buying a gift for my mother as her birthday is tomorrow." "My birthday IS tomorrow, "the woman said. "I'll take you home." "I just found a gift, "Nancy said. "Also, I don't want you to see it. By the way, if you take me to your house, I'll report you to the police for kidnapping me!" The woman and Nancy then went to the checkout line and paid for the items that they bought. They then both got into their cars and drove home.
When the woman got home, he noticed something very peculiar. She saw a woman who looked exactly like her, but her hair was a different color. She also saw a man who looked exactly like her husband Fred, but his head was bald. "Fred, "the woman asked. "Did you shave?" "No, "the man replied. "I was always bald." Nancy then came into the house. "Mom, "she said. "Why is there another woman who looks exactly like you?" "I don't know, "the woman who was apparently Nancy's mother said. Fred then looked at his real wife and said, "Grace, why are there two of you?" "I don't know, " Fred's real wife said. The woman than said, "You guys must all be insane!" Nancy then yelled, "We are NOT!"

A boy, who was apparently Nancy's brother, then came up to Nancy. "This is so strange, "he said. "Why is Mom next to another woman who looks exactly like her?" "I don't know, Bob, "Fred said. The woman then explained, "Well, I was looking for a prom dress for my daughter Nancy, when I saw another girl who looked exactly like her. I then asked her her name, and she said her name was Nancy. Later, I showed her the prom dress I got, but she threatened to call the police on me if I went home with her. I then got home, only to see another woman who looks exactly like me. I'm sure I got the right address, so maybe I ended up in a parallel universe or something like that." "You might be right, "Bob said. "Maybe if you stare into a mirror for long enough, you'll end up back at the universe you came from." The woman then grabbed her purse, as well as the dress, and went up to the mirror in the master bedroom. As she stared into the mirror, she could see everything starting to get closer and closer. She then found herself looking away from the mirror, where her husband Fred was looking at him. "Where were you, "Fred said. "I was in a parallel universe, "the woman replied. "But at least I found a prom dress for Nancy!"
